High power battery Stairlifts for better performance In earlier times the stair lifts used to have the alternating current motors to drive the system which ran on high voltage. The risk was pretty high using those stair lifts. There used to be an energy cable alongside the railing to carry the power supply from the carrier to the supply point. And for which there should be continuous power supply. However, most recently, the stair lifts are installed with rechargeable batteries using direct current.
